Calendars at the Ready?

Month-Long - Plastic Free July:holidays in july

With climate change leading to the hottest global summers we’ve ever experienced, eco-friendly initiatives matter more than ever. We won't pretend completely cutting out plastic is easy, and you don’t have to either. No one is expecting you to be perfect!

Instead, use this month to open a candid conversation with your customers. What small, sustainable swaps are you trying out? What has been your team’s experience with ditching single-use plastics in the office? Maybe you’ve made a simple packaging upgrade recently? Your audience respects honesty, and it’s a great way to show you care about the planet without sounding preachy or corporate.

July 1 – International Joke Day:

Everyone loves a good laugh, so what better way to engage with your customers than by showing off your best side-splitters? Do this by sharing relatable memes about your industry, or even filming your team as they attempt to read groan-worthy dad jokes with a straight face. Whatever you do, have fun with it! Taking this chance to lower your professional mask proves there are actual, funny humans behind your brand. holidays in july

July 7 – World Chocolate Day:

Easily the most delicious holiday on the calendar: World Chocolate Day is one you’ll enjoy creating content for (we sure do!). Ship physical products? Entice your customers with the option of a free chocolate bar in any orders shipped on the 7th. Chocolate is always an easy sell.

If you're a service business, show your team’s go-to sweet treats for an afternoon boost, physically hand out free chocolates to the public as a striking, live marketing experience, or host office challenges/games with some chocolatey top prizes. All are highly visual, and people can’t resist commenting about their ride-or-die chocs.

July 15 - National Give Something Away Day

This clunkily named holiday is full of heart: an easy way to show your appreciation and give back to those who support you. In the spirit of generosity, run a quick flash giveaway and ask your followers to tag a friend who deserves a little surprise. This naturally introduces your brand to a whole new circle of potential customers (which means potential sales!

Lower budget? Your skills and knowledge are valuable too. Share free tips or resources for instant value.

July 17 – World Emoji Day:

This day is all about pure, silly, smiley-faced fun! It’s a great way to boost your engagement without too much heavy lifting. Lean into an emoji takeover with story polls asking people to drop an emoji to match their mood, social quizzes guessing famous movies, music, or your own products using just emojis (emoji-charades?), or, to keep it even simpler, invite your audience to comment questions…that you can only respond to with emojis. (📞🧈🍿😉)

July 18 – Get to Know Your Customers Day:

This one does what it says on the tin. Start a chat with your clients with an anonymous Q&A box on your story to talk about… well, anything you like! From confessions and pet peeves to the products/services they wish you’d launch next, the sky is the limit. Be creative and find questions that entertain while also helping to fine-tune your business. What can you learn about your audience demographics? Their needs, wants, or common pain points? Their answers will be way more valuable than you’d expect!

July 24 – International Self-Care Day:

Let's face it: we’re all just a little exhausted, so a holiday dedicated to slowing down is bound to be a hit with tired consumers. Skip the hard sell today and instead share a cosy post about your team’s favourite ways to unwind after a long week. For a trendy approach, take inspiration from the widely adored “Parks and Rec” and encourage viewers to “Treat Yo ’ Self” this International Self-Care Day. To do this, you could bundle a few of your products into a “Treat Yo’ Self” package, or even launch a sale with a ‘TREATYOSELF’ discount code.

July 30 – International Day of Friendship:

This is the perfect moment to lean into word-of-mouth marketing by celebrating besties in simple, high-impact social content. E.g. relatable memes of  “Office Besties”, low-fi gameshow vibes with “Who Knows You Better? Bestie or Boss Edition”, or street interviews about best friends as a bid for emotion. Remember: In your captions, always ask your followers to tag their favourite person in the comments.

For physical products, run a sweet "Buy One, Gift One to Your Bestie" deal. Enough said.
