Consistently coming up with fresh, engaging content ideas for your brand can feel like a pretty daunting to-do. I bet that even the most creative minds among us have dealt with some level of “Idea Drought” once or twice. Creative block happens to the best of us.

Luckily, there are plenty of key dates and holidays to draw inspiration from for your marketing content this June! Knowing what holidays are coming up can help you map out a winning marketing strategy in advance. From celebrating Pride to the official start of Summer, you won't be stuck for something to post about with this list.

Month Long - Pride:

June 1st marks the start of Pride Month, an important celebration and show of support for the LGBTQA+ community. Take the opportunity to champion impactful stories, inclusive initiatives, and the voices of your LGBT colleagues and customers. However, please keep any posts tasteful! Remember that this month is time for genuine celebration, not insincere marketing.

June 5 - World Environment Day:

On this day, the United Nations encourages worldwide awareness and action to protect our planet, something we all (brands too) should be eager to embrace. You can use this date to launch green pledges, eco-friendly events, or sustainable product launches. Even a post to raise awareness in your local community makes a difference!

June 11th  – FIFA World Cup:

June 11th sees the kick-off of another World Cup, an iconic sporting event that reliably reaches billions of excited viewers (i.e. billions of potential customers to engage with). Get involved with football-related memes, start a conversation about who your audience supports, or even give some World Cup fun facts! Our favourite is how the Jules Rimet trophy, stolen in 1966, was miraculously recovered a week later, by a dog named Pickles.

June 20/21 - Summer Solstice:

The official start of summer brings longer, brighter, and warmer days, all of which lead to a major boost in consumer mood. As a brand, play on the extra daylight hours of the longest day of the year to introduce a limited-time sale, social media takeover, or day-long live stream/contest.

June 21 - Father's Day:

Millions of pounds will be spent on this occasion: a perfect time for gifting promos and father figure-focused posts. Remember, it’s not just for dads. Fathers-to-be, fathers-in-law, stepfathers, grandfathers and father figures should all get recognition. For a fun twist, maybe celebrate the “Dad’ of your office! Not sure how to recognise him? He’ll always have a kettle brewing, slips biscuits to the nervous new hires, and has a groan-worthy dad joke for any occasion.

June 26 – Take Your Dog to Work Day:

Now this adorable holiday is pretty self-explanatory. Fill your stories with cute BTS snaps of your pets in the office, on set, or even lounging across your WFH setup. So many of us have and adore our four-legged family, so posting on this holiday shows a softer, more personal side that customers really respond to.

June 29 – Wimbledon:

The world-famous Grand Slam tournament is the oldest tennis tournament in the world (145 years old!) and is held at the All England Club in Wimbledon. It’s much adored, symbolising summer and strawberries & cream, so fun posts showing how you enjoy the sunny fortnight are sure to bring in lots of engagement.

June 30 - Social Media Day:

Now one for all the Social Media Managers reading this post! Take the time to give your social team a well-deserved shout-out, announce a platform rebrand or revamp, post an insightful blog entry on your social first opinions, or boost engagement through exclusive social media giveaways/polls/contests.
